Surlianth Surlianthet

Formerly a Star Drake who desired to travel the multiverse; to do this, Surlianth allowed his enemies to "imprison" him within a special sword forged from nucleon-degenerate matter, which became known as Surlianthet, the Sword of Surliath. From his original universe, he migrated by means unknown to the universe where the Alontoran race lived. There, after gaining the attention of the Masters, a manipulative slave-wielding race, he killed all the champions the Masters chose to wield him, eventually finding himself permanently ensconced in an armory.

It was in that armory that Myclestra, a slave attempting to escape to freedom, found him. He used his telepathic abilities to encourage her to take him as a weapon, and they became Bonded. Myclestra was a successful bounty hunter, and they followed an escaped perp to Earth through a dimensional rift.

After helping Division One kill their perp, a warpwraith, they were welcomed to the Pan-Galactic Coalition and awarded not only large bounties, but presented the Cross in Platinum of the Galactic Alliance, and dubbed the Lord Surlianth Surlianthet and the Lady Myclestra of Alontora.

Surlianth then worked with the Pan-Galactic Coalition to execute outstanding warrants against the Cortian pirates still ravaging the spaceways, and was granted a starship and a crew, as well as a request to explore the Local Group of galaxies and report back. Omega saw a certain affinity between the being imprisoned in the sword and its bearer, and suggested that Surlianth try creating a humanoid form to be able to walk beside Myclestra. This he did, although the form he decided to create was rather hermaphroditic in nature, since he desired to appeal to Myclestra, and all Alontoran males had been eliminated by the Masters millennia earlier. Thus he left the Milky Way as a bipedal humanoid (Opdip), mated to Myclestra.

Myclestra

Myclestra is a bounty hunter from another universe, crossed from her universe into the Division One universe, in search of a horrible creature, a warpwraith. She came bearing Surlianthet, an incredible sword inhabited by the spirit of a Star Drake.

She is from Alontora, and her people were conquered and enslaved by a race generally known as the Masters, godlike beings who delight in manipulating those in their power. The male Alontorans were wiped out millennia ago, and Alontorans are not born so much as created, now. They no longer have sighted eyes, though other senses have been enhanced. This has its disadvantages; her hearing is remarkable, but to her, a summer thunderstorm is so loud -- the thunder, the wind, the rainfall -- that it can reduce her to trembling nigh-panic.
